Snow Geese

Today marked my annual Snow Goose hunt. This year we hunted Maryland. We had to cancel day one of our trip because fields were so muddy we couldn’t get the 1200 decoys out without doing damage to the farmers field. Fortunately, last night was cold enough to provide just enough freezing so we could get in and out.

We did well. This hunt is part of the Conservation season that has liberal regulations, including bag limits. The reason for this is the crisis these geese are creating on the tundra due to overpopulation.
